Some cool street art that we swatched on a recent jaunt to Barcelona.

Graeme's just returned from a trip to San Fransisco where he was lucky enough to visit some of the city's top digital and tech businesses including Pixar, Facebook, Github and Fantasy Interactive.
The trip was hugely inspirational and it was a privilidge to get an inside view of how some of the world's top companies operate. We're now looking forward to turning the inspiration and resarch into action at JamHot HQ as we look to grow and develop the business over the next 12 months. We have lots of exciting plans and the trip was a great catalyst in showing what is possible when you have a huge vision and a lor of ambition (and some sun shine!).
Here's some pictures from the trip...

The one and only Pixar lamp - Luxo!

Anyone for beach volleyball (at Pixar)

Recognise these cheeky monsters?

The walls inside Facebook HQ that the staff have decorated themselves.

Facebook's Burger Bar where the burgers are free all day long. They must be good as we saw none other than the main man himself Mark Zukerburg heading in to grab a bite! They also have a sweet shop, bank, steak house, mexican and a barbers - all completely free of charge within the Facebook campus!

A visit to Boxfish who are busy indexing all of the content on TV. Now that's a task and a half!
Obscura Digital's outstanding touch screen wall of fame for the Hard Rock Cafe

Git Hub had pretty cool offices - but most of their staff work remotely so it's basically just a place to party and hang out!

Fantasy Interactive are one of the world's leading digital experts with office around the globe. Their San Fransisco Headquarters were really welcoming with a quirky No Shoes policy.

The work Ideo do is pretty inspirational. From designing the first computer mouse to working on groundbreaking medical innovations it's awe inspiring stuff. Here we are messing about with their inspiration coffee table.

And this very freaky work of art that we saw at the Museum of Modern Art rounded off the trip nicely.

As part of the Cross Creative course that he's attending at the moment, Graeme was away visiting the team at MAKLab in The Lighthouse in Glasgow last week. The facility was set up by Bruce Newlands and Ian Elder and is part of the worldwide FabLabs network.
MAKLab allows people to bring their ideas for products to life - accessing the expertise of the staff and use of the lab equipment to turn their ideas in to real products and designs.
There's a lot of impressive kit on offer including 3D printers. It was great to see these in action as it's a technology that we at JamHot are really excited about. It's still in its early days but the future opportunities that it will present to people and companies are really exciting - although the notion of a printer being able to print spare parts for itself is slightly terrifying!
If you are in the area, we'd urge you to pop in to The Lighthouse and take a look at the MAKLab facilities, we were really impressed with them.

The whole team at JamHot have been loving the Olympics. Spending long nights and afternoons watching people much more dedicated and talented than us achieve their dreams, after years of training and sacrifice. It really has been an inspiring couple of weeks. We're especialy delighted as Anna who works for us as a freelance designer has had extra reason to celebrate. Her brother Luke Patience managed to bag a silver medal with his sailing partner Stuart Bithell - what an outstanding achievement.
So a big congratulations is in order from all of us at JamHot. We hope that our dedication to, and involvment in, the Glasgow 2018 Youth Olympic Games bid will help drive forward the legacy from such an exciting games and help encourage more young people to get involved with sport and be the best they can be.

This week, the studio was treated to a visit from one of our favourite paper based friends - Paul from GF Smith! Whenever he visits, Paul always comes bearing treats of inspirational print work and paper samples. It's great to see a company who take such care and dedication in everything that they do... and we think this amazing viseo sums it up perfectly!
