Gab 35. Creative Event With Actor & Director Eilidh Loan.

Last week we kicked off our Gab creative & design event series for 2024 with the first event of the year at Sloans Ballroom in Glasgow.

We were treated to three great talks, taking a peek behind the scenes of some different creative practices & processes.

First up we had Lorraine Smith, a freelance designer from Glasgow. We have to thank Lorraine for stepping in at the last min to replace another speaker - and what an excellent job she did, giving a great talk about representation and equality within the design industry.

Next up we had Alex & Eathan from Edinburgh video production studio High Tide, who gave an open and honest talk about how they recovered from their most challenging year and the lessons that were learned by the team. It was excellent.

Last up we had actor & director Eilidh Loan taking to the stage to tell us all about her journey from school in Renfrewshire to playing a starring Shakespeare in London and developing her very own stage play that opened to standing ovations and sold out audiences across Scotland. It was hugely inspirational and one of our very favourite talks yet.

As always, a huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported the event. All ticket proceeds from Gab 35 were donated to Nordoff Robbins, the music therapy charity.

We're busy planning the next Gab event, and will have some more details soon.
