Gab #17 Featuring ustwo. Creative Talk Event.

It's time for the final Gab of 2017, and we're excited to welcome Mills & Sinx to Glasgow - the founders of digital studio, ustwo, alongside our Edinburgh friends Fee Sheal and Studio Something.

Tickets are 6 quid (inc booking fee) and all proceeds will be going to a Scottish food bank charity initiative providing film screenings to families who struggle to afford a cinema ticket.

We hope you can join us. Grab your tickets here.

ustwo

It may seem like a rather confusing melange of digital agency, game studio, incubator, and venture fund, but for co-founders Mills and Sinx, it’s a place for having fun above all else. In 2015, ustwo found itself in the global spotlight, collecting praise and awards for creating the hugely popular mobile game Monument Valley. With 250 employees and branches around the world, Mills and Sinx are trying to strike a balance between leading a successful global business and preserving the jolly casualness and genuine friendship that make up the unique fabric of this ‘fampany’.

Studio Something

After a few years at an advertising agency Ian Greenhill & Jordan Laird used their music video directing and creative copywriting skills to found Something Something, their weird wee creative studio, in 2014. They've sent stuff to space, sank a singer to the bottom of the sea, been nominated for a BAFTA and even been vilified by the Daily Mail. Rebranding as Studio Something last year they started making their side projects as their business by introducing a venture side to the company. Which just means they come up with ideas and then try and make them into companies.

Fee Sheal

Fee Sheal is a Digital and Motion Graphic Designer from Edinburgh. She’s the host of Ladies Wine Design Edinburgh (an initiative started by Jessica Walsh that’s now active in over 100 cities across the world) and an advocate for women in the creative industries. Join us to hear Fee’s ramblings on saying yes to anything and winging it when you don’t know how.

Gab #17 Charity Partner

All proceeds from Gab #17 will be going to a great new initiative from North Ayrshire Foodbank, which is providing free Saturday night film screenings to cash strapped families who struggle to afford a trip to the cinema.
