Gab20 Review. Creative Event.

This week saw the 20th Gab event held at Sloans Grand Ballroom in Glasgow.

We were treated to three great creative talks. First up was Andy Arnold. Currently Artistic Director of Tron Theatre, Andy established the legendary Glasgow venue The Arches and gave us a great insight into his career which was built upon many happy accidents that Andy took advantage of. A really inspiring message of grabbing opportunity when it arises.

Sign painter Rachel E Millar showcased some of her excellent work and took us through her story - with her bold bright work looking amazing on the big screen.

Last up, illustrator, author and podcaster Ben Tallon joined us to chat about forging a career in the creative industries, with the evening expertly guest hosted by O Street's Tessa Simpson.

Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket we are able to donate all proceeds to The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide.

This was our final event of the year and we'll be announcing our next event at the start of next year - and we've got some pretty exciting speakers lined up for next year and we can't wait to share them soon.

Thank you to everyone who has ever bought a ticket and supported the events. It continues to be an honour and a privilege to organise Gab and the events simply would not exist without the amazing support from Scotland's creative community and the many speakers who give up their time to tell their stories in the hope of inspiring others.
